Sapphire Optical Lens – High Hardness, Multi-Size Customization
Sapphire optical lenses represent the gold standard in
high-performance optics, combining unmatched durability with
exceptional optical clarity. Engineered from 99.999% pure
single-crystal aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), these lenses offer Mohs 9
hardness (second only to diamond) while maintaining >85% light
transmission from UV to mid-IR wavelengths (250-5000nm). Unlike
conventional glass or fused silica optics, sapphire lenses are
virtually scratch-proof, chemically inert, and capable of
withstanding extreme temperatures (-200°C to +1900°C) – making them
indispensable for aerospace, defense, industrial laser, and
scientific instrumentation applications.
Our precision manufacturing process combines diamond-tool CNC
machining with sub-nanometer polishing to produce lenses with:
Available in diameters from 1mm to 300mm with customizable
curvatures (plano, spherical, aspheric), these lenses push the
boundaries of what's possible in harsh-environment optical systems.
