Description:
The CFH fine bar screen is designed for municipal sewage and
industrial wastewater treatment plants requiring a mechanical
separation of fine solids.
The fine screening performed by this equipment allows the
separation of small-sized materials such as paper, plastics and
other solid materials.
Therefore CFH type screen effectively decreases the final quantity
of sludge to be treated and considerably reduces clogging problems
of downstream installed equipment.
It is mainly composed of:
- a sturdy frame made of steel sheets;
- a set of bars to compose the filtering screen and fixed to the
frame through suitable supporting crossbeams that guarantee a
constant filtering gap;
- a reciprocating travelling comb;
- a comb motion chain;
- a set of guides for the correct motion of comb and chain;
- a sturdy gearmotor for the motion of the chain and then the comb;
- a comb cleaning system for screened material discharge, installed
at the top of the screen.
The cleaning process starts when the comb, placed at the bottom
dead end, is pulled upward by means of the chain.
Thanks to the special shape of the internal guides, the comb comes
out of the screen bars. This position is held during all the upward
run, while the material settled on the screen is removed. When the
comb is close to the upper dead end, the screened material is
removed by a suitable scraper and soon after the comb withdraws
inside the screen bars.
From this point the comb, while still in the withdrawn
configuration, reaches the bottom dead end to start a new cleaning
process. The movement of the comb is controlled by suitable limit
switch able to manage and invert the rotating course of the
gearmotor and then the chain motion course. The protection against
overload is guaranteed by two dynamometric devices, one for the
upward run and the other one for the downward run.
The constructional simplicity of this equipment and the special
characteristics of having a comb that never comes out of the bars
guarantee a high performance and long time reliability.
