Fixed Inline ultrasonic flowmeters by transit time multi-liquid velocity determine for slurry | effluent | sewage

General of ultrasonic flow meters

The UFM Ultrasonic flowmeters can determine the velocity of a fluid flowing in a pipe by sound waves. When it's in no flow conditions, an ultrasonic wave's frequencies are transmitted into a pipe and its reflections from the fluid are the same. When it's under flowing conditions, the frequency of the reflected wave is different due to the Doppler effect. When liquid media moves faster, the frequency shift increases linearly. The transmitter processes signals from the transmitted wave and its reflections to determine the flow rate.

The transit time type ultrasonic flowmeters can give and receive ultrasonic waves between the transducers in both the upstream and downstream in the pipe. While it's under no flow conditions, it takes the same time to travel upstream and downstream between the transducers. While it's under flowing conditions, the upstream wave will travel slower and take more time than the (faster) downstream wave. When the fluid moves faster, the difference between the upstream and downstream times increases. The transmitter processes upstream and downstream times to determine the flow rate.

Description:

The ultrasonic flowmeter is available with pipe type, clamp on and other options, it's designed for linear and bi-directional volumetric flow measurement of liquid. The measured flow datas can be output by standard analog or pulse or frequency. Through HMI user friendly operator interface, the unit can be set up for a wide range of applications. Next to actual volumetric flow measurement, the unit can be configured to perform flow totalization ( plus, minus, or sum). Measurement and output of the liquid sonic velocity can be configured too.

Optionally the unit can be set to perform one of the following additional functions:

  • Calculate and output corrected standard volumetric or mass flow using external pressure & temperature inputs
  • Batch function
  • Heat function, combining T1, T2 and volume
