Wiring layout suggestion:

1. KNX bus wiring suggestion hand in hand to the end, star or tree wiring is not recommended to ensure the stability of signal transmission.

2. KNX bus wiring wire recommends KNX standard EIB shielded wire or Category 6 network cable, the length of the bus wiring is recommended not to exceed 400 meters, and the number of sensor connected to a bus is recommended to not exceed 12.

3. The number of sensors connected to a bus needs to fully consider the current load capacity of the power supply: that is the sum of the currents of all KNX devices (including sensors) shall not be greater than the load current of the KNX power supply.

6. Initialization

After routing the physical addresses and setting the channel parameters, follow these steps:

(1) Connect the Bus interface;

(2) Set the Bus and auxiliary power on (note: please make sure that the product has an auxiliary power supply, otherwise the device may not work properly);

(3) Press the programming switch of the product, the LED light will turn red;

(4) Use the bus interface to download the physical address through the ETS software. The programming LED light is off to indicate that the physical address download is completed;

(5) Download the application after setting the required application parameters.

(6) After downloading the application, the product goes into initialization. During initialization, the detection function is disabled. After 20S, the initialization is completed, and the product works normally;

Note: Please use the latest version of ETS 5 or 5.7.2. Please obtain this sensor's ETS engineering configuration file from our sales staff.


7. Installation Instructions

Embedded mounting installation

  1. Trepanning a 50-55mm hole
  2. Securely wire cable into the terminal
  3. Press the program button
  4. Put the spring clip into the hole and fasten it well
  5. Ensure the sensor is firmly installed

10. Application Notice

Our microwave motion sensor is an electromagnetic product that aims to detect moving objects and shall be firmly fastened. Strong reflect material like metal or metallic coating or moving pet or moving fan have false trigger chance, so we need to consider the below aspect during installation

  • Because the human body consists of electrolytes and can reflect radar waves, our microwave motion sensor mainly applies the Doppler principle to measure human motion and output occupied/unoccupied status
  • Because radar waves can penetrate thin glass, thin wood, and thin gypsum board but can’t penetrate concrete walls or metal to detect motion, you need to select the right installation location, set proper detection sensitivity, and hold time to meet your ideal sense result
  • Because our microwave motion sensor is in continuous working mode, our sensor power current shall guarantee at least a stable 14mA
  • Due to our microwave motion sensor being KNX bus-powered, you need to connect a limited sensor quantity in a loop(we suggest no more than 6 sensors in a loop)
  • 5.5G router and other high-power wireless equipment might interfere with our microwave motion sensor, so a 2m installation interval between our sensor and such equipment is highly recommended, and detection sensitivity shall be adjusted based on the construction scene
  • Air outlet airflow might shake our microwave motion sensor, so a 2m installation interval between our sensor and air outlet or metallic material is highly recommended, and detection sensitivity shall be adjusted based on the construction scene
  • There shall be no blocking material like hanging lighting or pipelines just under our microwave motion sensor to ensure its regular work
  • When applying our motion sensor in a loop, you can apply one sensor to control more KNX equipment or more sensors to control one equipment. Also, a daylight harvesting function is available for our sensor
