Why does my new memory foam product have an odor?

Memory foam may have a slight odor that remains from the manufacturing process. This odor, often

referred to as a “fresh foam smell” is normal and completely harmless, and will dissipate within a few

days. Both memory foam and conventional foam are used in products you come in contact with every

day such as upholstered furniture, vehicles, and office furniture. The “new car smell” is attributed to

the foam used in the seats. All memory foam materials have this smell when first opened –especially

because they have been vacuum sealed and air tight from the time they were manufactured.

The smell of the foam can disapear in 2-3 days after lay out.
