Weld Seam Inspection Ultrasonic AWS Probe & Block
Features
*Compliance with specifications: The design meets or exceeds all
the requirements listed in the AWS Structural Weld Standard D1.1,
ensuring that the inspection work complies with relevant
specifications.
*Multiple angles: There are usually three standard refraction
angles of 45°, 60° and 70°, which can be selected according to
different inspection requirements and weld structure to achieve
effective detection of internal defects in the weld.
*Good performance: It has excellent sensitivity, can clearly detect
defects in welds, and has a long service life.
Convenient connection: Generally, BNC connectors are adopted, which
are stable and reliable in connection, and easy to install and
disassemble, which is conducive to improving the efficiency of
detection work.
Performance parameters:
Frequency | Generally, it is between 2 and 2.5MHz. This frequency range can ensure the detection sensitivity while effectively penetrating the weld material and reducing the influence of attenuation and scattering. |
Wafer size | The crystal shape of the transducer is square or rectangular, with a width of 15-25mm (5/8-1in.) and a height of 15-20mm (5/8in. - 13/16in.). The maximum aspect ratio is 1.2:1.0 and the minimum aspect ratio is 1.00:1.0. Such a wafer size can generate an appropriate sound beam Angle and energy distribution, meeting the requirements of weld seam inspection. |
Application scenario:
Mainly used for ultrasonic testing of bevel welds and heat-affected zones between plate thicknesses of 8-200mm (5/16in. - 8in.). It is widely applied in non-destructive testing of weld quality in industries such as steel structure buildings, Bridges, and shipbuilding. It can effectively detect defects such as cracks, pores, and slag inclusions in welds, ensuring the quality of welds and the safety of structures.
Related accessories:
It is often equipped with wedges, which can generate 30-degree transverse waves and 70-degree longitudinal waves in steel materials, and quantitatively measure the cracks connected to the inner wall through the 30-70-70 technology. In addition, there are Snail wedges and Serrated wedges, etc., and different angles are available for selection to adapt to different detection conditions and requirements.
