By limiting exposure to over-vacuum, the teat opening remains healthy, sealing tightly after milk-ing. This is key to reducing mastitis. Since cows usually lie down after milking, it is essential that the teat opening closes properly in order to reduce the risk of bacteria entering the teat canal.
