F316Ti, a specific austenitic stainless steel grade specified in the SA182 standard, is a modified form of 316 stainless steel and is also known as titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel. Nozzles typically extend from the vessel wall or main pipeline and are used to connect instruments, branch pipes, safety valves, manholes, inspection holes, etc., while nozzle flanges are flanges installed at the end of a vessel or equipment connection.

ASME SA182 F316Ti, thanks to its high Cr and Mo contents and the stabilizing effect of Ti, offers excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is also highly resistant to acidic and alkaline solutions, pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments, atmospheric corrosion, and aqueous corrosion. Its austenitic structure maintains excellent strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The addition of Ti also helps F316Ti maintain high-temperature strength and good low-temperature toughness at low temperatures, preventing brittleness. While more difficult to machine than carbon steel, F316Ti remains one of the most machinable stainless steels.
