ASTM B407 Alloys 800H ,800HT Seamless High Temperature Oxidation Tubes

YuHong Group as one of the leading suppliers in China to supply nickel alloy seamless pipes and tubes, etc.,we have many experiences in exporting.

ASTM B407 This specification covers UNS N08120, UNS N08800, UNS N08801, UNS N08810, UNS N08811, UNS N08890, and UNS N06811 in the form of cold-worked and hot-finished annealed seamless pipe and tube. Alloys UNS N08120, UNS N08810, UNS N08811, and UNS N08890 are normally employed in service temperatures above 1100°F (593°C) where resistance to creep and rupture is required, and they are annealed to develop controlled grain size for optimum properties in this temperature range.

800H and 800HT share the high-temperature oxidation and carburization resistance of Alloy 800 but have enhanced creep and stress rupture properties. These two grades are variations of the base grade 800.

Distinctive Characteristic

1.Corrosion Resistance

Alloys 800H,800HT both share the corrosion resistant characteristics of the base alloy 800, including good general corrosion resistance, as well as good resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids, organic acids, seawater, salts, and particularly excellent resistance to nitric acid. They are also exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC). However, they are susceptible to chromium carbide precipitation along grain boundaries when subjected to temperatures in the range of 1000°F - 1400°F (538°C - 760°C).Additionally, they are not recommended for sulfuric acid service.

2.Elevated Temperature Resistance

800H and 800HT have outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation at temperatures up to 1800°F.

800H and 800HT are typically supplied in a low-strength solution annealed condition. While intended for high-temperature applications, they have excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.

Heat Treatment

Alloys 800H and 800 HT cannot be strengthened by heat treating. They are typically solution annealed at 2050°F - 2150°F (1121°C - 1177°C) followed by rapid cooling. Stress-relieving at 1000°F - 1600°F (538°C - 870°C) may also be performed after cold working to reduce residual stresses and prevent distortion.
