ASTM A182 F22 refers to low alloy steel forgings, which belong to carbon steel. The material starting with ASTM A182 is stainless steel.
Carbon steel is an iron-carbon alloy with a carbon content of less than 2.11% and does not contain other alloying elements except for iron, carbon, and impurities such as silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur within the limit. The carbon content of industrial carbon steel is generally 0.05%~1.35%. The performance of carbon steel mainly depends on its carbon content.
Carbon steel is the earliest used, with low cost, wide performance range, and the largest usage. Suitable for media such as water, steam, air, hydrogen, ammonia, nitrogen, and petroleum products with a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 32.0MPa and a temperature of -30-425 ℃.
