Differences between carbon steel A105 and A105N
1. There is no difference in material composition between A105 and
A105N in the ASTM A105/A105M standard, but it is specified in the
standard that when there are auxiliary requirements for heat
treatment in the order, letters are added after A105 to
distinguish. The letters are represented as: A-annealing,
N-normalizing, NT normalizing plus tempering, QT quenching plus
tempering.
2. A105 in ASTM A105/A105M is not very different from A105M. Don't
think that there is a change in the material. In fact, the unit of
supply is different. Those without M are supplied in Imperial
units, while those with M are supplied in metric units. The same is
true for other standards such as ASTM A193/A193M, A351/A351M, etc.
Due to its excellent comprehensive performance, flanges are widely
used in basic engineering such as chemical engineering,
construction, water supply, drainage, petroleum, light and heavy
industries, refrigeration, sanitation, plumbing, fire protection,
power, aerospace, shipbuilding, etc.
Also useful is a flange on the inlet and outlet of the equipment,
used for connecting between two devices, such as a gearbox flange.
Flange connection or flange joint refers to a detachable connection
consisting of flanges, gaskets, and bolts connected to each other
as a combination sealing structure. Pipeline flange refers to the
flange used for piping in pipeline devices, and when used on
equipment, it refers to the inlet and outlet flanges of the
equipment.
