ASTM A335 P9 High Temperature Alloy Steel Tube For Heat Exchanger Black Painted
For over a decade, Yuhong Group has been a trusted provider of stainless steel, duplex, and nickel seamless pipes. With an annual sales volume exceeding 80,000 tons, our client base spans across 45 countries. Our stainless steel seamless pipes find extensive application in industries such as mining, energy, petrochemicals, chemicals, food processing, paper mills, gas, and fluid industries.
One of the notable grades we offer is ASTM A335 P9, also known as ASME SA335 P9. These seamless ferritic alloy steel pipes are primarily utilized in high-temperature environments. The UNS designation for grade P9 is K90941. ASTM A335 Grade P9 pipes exhibit a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa. The minimum elongation for these pipes is approximately 30/20 L/T. Various surface treatments, including phosphating, passivation, shot peening, oil immersion, and varnishing, can be applied to A335 pipes. These pipes undergo testing through methods such as flattening, surface and dimensional inspection, mechanical property evaluation, hardness testing, chemical composition analysis, and bending tests.
The versatility of these pipes makes them indispensable in industries such as boilers, chemicals, power generation, petroleum, oil, and gas. Their popularity stems from two key properties: high corrosion resistance and the ability to operate in extreme temperature conditions. Additionally, P9 pipes exhibit excellent machinability and weldability, making them ideal for flanging and bending applications. Due to their ability to withstand high temperatures, they are highly recommended for use in cokers, hydrocrackers, high-temperature and ultra-high-temperature lines, reheat lines, and more.
The inclusion of molybdenum in the steel composition enhances its strength, elastic limit, wear resistance, impact quality, and hardenability. It also improves resistance to softening, reduces brittleness, and prevents pitting corrosion in chrome steel.
Chromium, another vital element in stainless steel alloys, prevents oxidation at elevated temperatures and enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel. It improves tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness properties of low alloy pipes at room temperature.
Other alloying elements present in varying degrees across all grades of pipes include:
As previously mentioned, low alloy steels contain less than 5% total alloying elements, while high alloy steels have higher percentages of these elements.
At Yuhong Group, we aim to provide high-quality seamless pipes with superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, meeting the diverse needs of our customers across various industries.
