The IC693CPU323 is a component of the GE Fanuc Series 90-30, specifically a baseplate integrated with a turbo CPU. Tailored for small-scale applications, it lacks support for expansion and advanced modules like PCM and CCM.

Equipped with a turbo CPU, the IC693CPU323 delivers a typical scan rate of 0.6 milliseconds per 1K of Boolean logic. It comes with 12KB of user memory (maximum), while versions prior to V7 are limited to 6KB. The module supports up to 320 discrete I/O points, 64 words of analog input, and 32 words of analog output. Additionally, it features 340 timers and counters, along with support for shift register instructions.

Powered by an 80188 processor running at 10 MHz, the IC693CPU323 includes a serial interface compatible with SNP Slave and SNP-X Slave protocols. For enhanced connectivity, optional communication modules are available, such as those supporting Ethernet, FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM, and GCM+.

As a non-expandable hardware unit, the IC693CPU323 does not offer override functionality, a battery-backed clock, or program interrupts. It utilizes battery-backed RAM by default, though the battery itself is housed in the power supply module. Optional non-volatile memory (e.g., EPROM, EEPROM) can also be installed.

Designed for panel mounting, the IC693CPU323 attaches via pre-drilled holes on its baseplate. It draws a current load of 430 mA from a +5VDC power supply.

The IC693CPU323 baseplate is a 10-slot embedded CPU baseplate within the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 lineup. Embedded CPUs, while cost-effective, lack the power and versatility of modular alternatives. In this design, the CPU and memory chips are soldered directly to the baseplate’s backplane, making them non-replaceable. They do not support expansion or remote racks, nor do they include a time-of-day clock—this is due to the memory backup battery being located in the power supply, meaning disconnecting the power supply severs the battery’s connection to memory circuits, which would disrupt clock functionality.

The IC693CPU323 baseplate requires 5VDC voltage and 430mA current. It is incompatible with PCM and CCM devices. Operating within a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, it does not support interrupts, overrides, or battery-backed clocks, though shift registers are supported. It includes 340 timers and counters, and its single serial port is limited to SNP Slave and SNP-X Slave protocols. Optional modules for Profibus, Ethernet, and GCM protocols are available separately. It allocates 64 words for analog inputs and 32 words for analog outputs, with a total capacity of 320 combined discrete inputs and outputs.
