General Introduction

CONICAL FLOW DISPLACEMENT TECHNOLOGY (a.k.a. A-cone, v cone flowmeter or cone meter) has been developed and utilized since the early 1980s, and is so far the most successful improvement for differential pressure flowmeters. The contoured shape of cone and its flow-conditioning effects have successfully enhanced the accuracy and shortened straight pipe run requirement.

The performance is widely tested and accepted by the oil & gas, petrochemical and other industries, especially acclaimed to meet challenges in the tough applications e.g. offshore oil and subsea exploration. ACN cones are built to be more versatile, more durable, for bigger sizes, potential to benefit more industries with lower investment and operational cost.

ANTI-FOULING, NO DETENTION AREA, NO DEAD ZONE

An inherent self-clean meter, non-clogging and no maintenance requirement. Under dirty conditions, such as in the flow of soot, studies found no obvious dirt or scratch in the front, surface or the low-pressure end of the cone, the "swept thru" effect also cleaned the pipe walls in both the up- and down-stream area.

NO VIBRATION IN THRU FLUID

ACNOE: Fluid flows closely against the wall and generates no vibration at the negative-pressure area, thus maintains desirable accuracy vs Orifice plate: Fluid going through the throttling hole, comparatively large vibration can be seen at the negative-pressure area and further lead to the negative-pressure fluctuation
