About Patch Antenna:

Patch antenna is a pie-shaped directional antenna, suitable for covering a single layer of small offices, small shops and other access points can not be placed in a central indoor location. The patch antenna produces a hemispherical coverage surface, which propagates from the installation point, and the propagation range is between 30 degrees and 180 degrees.

Patch antennas are also called panels, flat panels, or microstrip antennas. They are composed of two metal plates (one of which is larger than the other), with a sheet-like dielectric in the middle. This antenna is usually installed in white or black plastic, which not only protects the antenna, but also facilitates installation. Because they are flat, thin and lightweight, patch antennas are often hung on walls or ceilings.

Commonly used antenna types:

(1) External glue stick antenna: good performance, no need to debug, easy to replace, high gain, suitable for various terminal equipment.

(2) SMT patch type: The commonly used ceramic antenna has a small footprint, high integration, and is easy to replace. It is suitable for products with small space requirements, but this type of antenna is slightly more expensive and has a smaller bandwidth.

(3) On-board PCB antenna: It is etched by PCB, with low cost, but with limited performance and good adjustability. It can be used in large quantities for Bluetooth and WiFi wireless communication modules.

(4) FPC antenna: connected by feeder, it is free to install and has high gain. It can usually be pasted on the non-metal casing of the machine by using adhesive.
