Deep-drawing stamping is a metal forming process used to produce seamless multi-dimensional parts. Annealing is a process that uses heat to change the physical and chemical properties of the metal to relieve the stress of the material caused by the deep drawing process, so that the metal is softer and easier to manipulate the shape of the material. Together, these processes provide a highly cost-effective solution for high-volume production and enable manufacturers to easily and efficiently create products with complex geometries and seamless parts.

The benefits of stainless steel deep drawing
Compared with metal spinning and welding operations, the cycle time
for each part is shorter.
The integral part can be made of a sheet or plate.
A fairly uniform material thickness can be achieved in the
stainless steel shape.
Can avoid welding and produce deeper parts.
Cost saving techniques for stainless steel deep-drawn parts
During cold forming, stainless steel tends to undergo strain
hardening, so minimal deformation is ideal.
The design should minimize the ratio of depth to diameter (or
length and width) to avoid the need for a stress relief process.
Generally, before stress relief is required, the limit is a 2 times
reduction; in 304 or 316, the ratio of depth to diameter does not
exceed 1:1 in thicker materials.
Starting with approximately 14 gauge (0.074 inches/1.75 mm) thick
material, stretchability will decrease as the metal thickness
decreases.
