Trip Overview
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is one of the most popular trekking
tour in Annapurna region. also known as Annapurna sunrise trek and
Annapurna panoramic trek is one of the most popular and easy trek.
which can be done within a week. Ghorepani is located north of
Pokhara call Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, the highest ascent of this
trek is over 3210m, the trek offers the spectacular mountain
scenery along with charming village inhabited particularly by the
Gurung & Magars. rhododendron forests full of bird and deep sub
tropical valleys. Ghorepani Poon Hill trek offers superb Himalayan
views including the world 7th highest Mount Dhaulagiri 8167m,10th
highest mount Annapurnama massif I 8091m, Annapurna South 7219m,
Annapurna II 7939m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m,
Fishtail/Annapurna 6998m, Nilgiri 7041m and Lamjung Himal 6988m.
Ghorepani Poon Hill trek passes through rhododendron and mixed
forest alive with fems and birds. Ghorepani trekking makes a small
circuit and visits many pictureques Gurung and Magar village and
end at close to Pokhara. those people’s who like to travel with
children’s this trek is best for them.
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1300m) Pick up then Transfer and
check in to hotel. Short briefing that afternoon followed by
orientation walk. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Morning drive (Approx. 6 hrs) or fly (25 Min) to Pokhara.
Transfer to the Hotel. Walk around the Phewa lake and city,
Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Pokhara – Naya Pool (privet car) – tikhedunga (trek).
4-hour trek to Hile (1545 m). The trail winds its way through
bamboo forests and passes by a spectacular waterfall. Overnight at
teahouse / lodge.
Day 04: Tikhedunga – Ghorepani (2775 m) in 6 hrs.
The Annapurna South (7273m) and the Hiunchuli gradually unfold on
this pleasant walk uphill through fields and pastures and later
through rhododendrons and oak wood.
Day 05: Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3210 m) – Tadapani (2540 m) in 6h
We leave early morning for Poon Hill, to catch the early morning
sunrise on the panorama of peaks: Dhaulaghiri, Annapurnas,
Machhapuchare. This is an option but really worth the while. then
retrace our steps to Ghorepani and continue towards Tadapani
through rhododendron woods. Overnight at teahouse lodge
Day 06: Tadapani – Ghandrung (1940m) 5h.
The trail gently descends through a subtropical forest highlighted
by huge bamboo massifs and giant rhododendrons. Gandrung is the
main village of the Gurung tribe,warriors known for their
contribution to the famous Gurkha regiments.
Day 07: Ghandrung – nayapula and drive to pokhara.
Day 08: locals activity’s,sightseeing etc
Day 09: drive to Kathmandu
Day 10: departure
Best seasons
September/October/November &march / April/ May. However
December and January are winter and can be much colder and June
July and August is rainy season trek can be done but climbing is
little dangerous and the views may not that great due to poor
visibility an rain.
