The LCD will be on and show its background color for 2 seonds after connected with the power,then off.

The word ERROR which meansdefective or non-recha rgeable battery would be shown on the corresponding position on the LCD if such kind of battery loaded, and the corresponding battery photo would flash.

The constant current and voltage keep the battery longer using life.
