When your team is working on a single project, it would be much easier if all of your members can access the same file at the same time. This is how the new feature in Office 2013 version can help you. You can publish your work on the cloud so that others can co-author with your job. You just have to allow them to edit your file.

The changes in the file will be shown to other authors when the file is saved. Other authors also don’t have to worry if they don’t have Office apps on their devices because they can still access the file in the browser and the WebApps. There are also parts in the ribbon where the team can talk because of the integration with Skype.

Cloud Storage

As mentioned earlier, users can now save their files online, specifically in SkyDrive and SharePoint. This is paramount for office workers who prefer to keep their work online than in the local server. The greatest advantage in this is that users can have access to their anywhere and anytime. Any device can now support the Office apps. So, even if you are half-way across the world, you can still work on your project.

New Startup Screen Templates

Every application in Office 2013 now supports color-coded startup screen – green for Excel, blue for Word, green for Publisher, and orange for PowerPoint. Each app’s start screen contains the list of the recent document including other template options. Now, if you want to use other templates, you can go online to search for other options. Just access the SkyDrive folder and browse for other documents.

Touch Screen Capabilities

Touch screen devices can now support the applications. This is because it has specialized features designed for that purpose. The Read Mode option in Microsoft Word, for example, allows the users to open the document in reading view. Users can now swipe the screen side-to-side just like turning pages in a book.

As for the touchscreen PC and laptop monitors, you can now use this features and navigate through the document easily. You can access this feature by clicking the Touch Mode button on the Quick Access Toolbar. The ribbon’s tabs and menus will automatically spread apart so that the finger can easily operate it.

Account Login

The Backstage View of Office 2013 apps now includes an Account tab. This is where you can access your SkyDrive account. You may also switch accounts here if you are using several ones. There is also an option where you can see the connected services such as Skype, Twitter, and Facebook. There is also an Office Updates area where you can check if there are available updates in the application.
