Optical Fiber Mechanical Splicer for Onsite Fast Fiber Splicing

Description

Optical fiber mechanical splicer manufactured by ANC International Co., Limited is a product used for a technician to hold two optical fibers together precisely so that light can pass through the fiber. This alignment is not permanent. A mechanical splice is usually temporary. Because of this pull strength is limited. The fiber is aligned and held in place by a self-contained assembly. The assembly itself has transparent index matching which has properties that are similar to the properties of the glass itself. This method of alignment or mating usually has a higher reflectance than fusion splices. A big plus it that no expensive equipment is needed for this installation. All that is needed is a stripper, a cleaver and isopropyl alcohol. This is a simple, fast way to mate fiber. However, it is important to remember insertion loss is greater and the cost of the mechanical splice is more expensive than a fusion splice. Using V-groove technology, this mechanical splicer maintains physical contact between the fibers. We provide a precise, simple and low cost method of mechanically splicing optical fiber. Fiber can be spliced simply in this way in a very short time. It can be used for 900/900µm ,250/250 µm, 250/900 µm fibers, drop cable/drop cable, etc

Features:

Box type crimping technology
Intermittent fit connection technology to ensure signal transmission
Bare fiber, tight-clad and pigtail triple can fully meet environmental requirements for end-customer
Integrated shell protection, can be long-term used outside
No need of polishing, epoxy or adhesive
High rate of success for installation and easy installation, the average connecting time is 150 seconds
Fiber aligned in v-groove for accurate alignment and low loss
It is applicable for optical fiber splicing and restoration for damaged lines

Mechanical Splicer Operating Manual:

Step 1: Fiber preparation. Fibers are prepared by stripping away all the protective coatings, such as cladding, jacket and sheath. Once only bare glass remains, the fibers are carefully cleaned--and here, cleanliness is next to godliness.

Step 2: Cleaving. Cleaving isn't cutting. As the word implies, it’s scoring the fiber using a cleaver and pulling or flexing it until it breaks. The cleaved end must be mirror-smooth and perpendicular to the fiber axis to obtain a proper splice.

Step 3: Mechanically join the fibers. There is no heat used in this method. Simply position the fiber ends together inside the mechanical splice unit. The index matching gel inside the mechanical splice apparatus will help couple the light from one fiber end to the other. Older apparatus will have an epoxy rather than the index matching gel holding the cores together.

Step 4: Protect the fiber. The completed mechanical splice provides its own protection for the splice.
