PowerEdge M630 Blade Server
Easily expand your workload capacity
The flexible PowerEdge M630 blade server is the 13th generation of
PowerEdge servers that deliver the computing power you need for
demanding applications. The M630 is built for the PowerEdge M1000
blade chassis and PowerEdge VRTX shared infrastructure; from
IT-as-a-service (XaaS) providers and private clouds to remote and
branch offices, it delivers exceptional scalability for a wide
range of environments.
PowerEdge-M630 - Easily expand your workload capacity
More cores for higher virtualization density: more cores than
previous generations (two processors up to 44 cores), up to 28%
more memory bandwidth, more available Larger, higher performance
virtual machines. The processing cycles and threads of the Intel®
Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 product family help improve
virtualization performance.
More flash memory for improved application performance: Up to four 1.8" solid state drives, each with twice as many flash drives as previous generations, helping to unleash shared infrastructure workloads capacity.
Massive memory capacity: The server is equipped with 24 DIMM slots
and plenty of room for memory expansion to meet your growing IT
needs. Extremely high memory density and high bandwidth DDR4 memory
make the M630 ideal for high-end R&D and high-performance
computing (HPC). A variety of memory configurations support a
variety of virtualization options to suit a variety of budget
requirements.
Tailor your blade server for your business
The M630 has the flexibility to optimize storage and IO performance within the server, so you can now customize the server for your workload and adjust it to future changes.
Significantly improve application IO performance: With the optional 12 Gb PowerEdge RAID Controller (PERC), throughput and cache can be twice as high as previous generations, dramatically increasing application IO performance. In addition, the M630 can be equipped with up to two Express Flash PCIe SSDs to support extremely high IOPS applications such as business decision support or real-time data analysis.
Storage options within the server: With a variety of hard drive options to choose from, you can easily configure the storage within your server to suit your needs. The M630 supports up to four 1.8-inch solid state drives or two 2.5-inch hard drives or Express Flash PCIe SSDs.
Scalable, flexible networking capabilities: With Dell's selection
of network adapters, you can quickly access the storage resources
(NAS or SAN) required by your server or cloud. These modular NIC
options give you the choice of structure, speed, and vendor to give
you an accurate picture of your workload's bandwidth requirements.
Simplify and automate IT management tasks
Embedded management and automation capabilities help reduce the
cost and complexity of managing blade server resources, making your
job easier.
Manage blade servers the way you like Dell's shared infrastructure
platform comes with the Dell Chassis Management Controller (CMC), a
single embedded multi-chassis management interface that lets you
manage blades the way you like. server. The power of CMC allows you
to manage or manage individual M630 blade servers in single or
multiple enclosures, single or multiple locations on the network.
Simplified Management The integrated intelligence capabilities of
the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) with Lifecycle
Controller and the complete Dell OpenManage portfolio help save
time and powerful management for simplified management of PowerEdge
servers.
Agent Free Management iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller provides
agentless management for real-time monitoring of servers and
internal storage devices. It also monitors server health, internal
parameters, and system performance without having to install some
agents in the server operating system that require additional
maintenance and take up valuable CPU time.
Lifecycle Controllers Lifecycle Controllers provide deployment,
update, and support automation on demand to maximize data center
efficiency, as well as automatically inventory, monitor, and update
all new Dell PowerEdge systems added to the data center. It
includes persistent managed onboard storage that, when combined
with its system management capabilities, eliminates the need for
traditional media-based system management tools and utilities.
Zero-touch automated deployment Zero-touch automated deployment
reduces setup time and manual entry errors by using a configuration
file stored in a designated location on the internal network to
discover and automatically configure the Dell server.
Automated Server Updates Automated server updates simplify the
firmware update by keeping the server in sync with the firmware
baseline stored at a specific location on the internal network.
Technical Support Reports Technical Support Reports, maintained
automatically by iDRAC, is a continuously updated health and status
report that monitors over 5,000 critical system parameters and
helps reduce the time required to identify and resolve server
problems.
Accelerate IT service deployment
Simplify infrastructure configuration, accelerate workload
deployment, and streamline IT service delivery with Active System
Manager's unified console and highly intuitive user interface. It
